When you are twenty years old, you just want to have fun, have fun to the fullest and enjoy life. But sometimes it happens that already at this age a huge burden of responsibility falls on your fragile shoulders. Kristina Yevtushenko has lost both her father and mother for two years. The girl remained the oldest in the family, where there were seven more children, the youngest of whom is four years old.

Already at the funeral of the mother, when the children were left complete orphans, they wanted to distribute them to orphanages in the region. But Kristina resolutely stated that she would raise her younger brothers and sisters herself. The local authorities stood up for the girl. Then the guardianship authorities gave Kristina a term of six months. During this time, she must prove that she is able to take care of the younger ones.

After dropping out of college, Kristina got to work. In the morning, she managed to milk the cows, cook breakfast, gather first the older ones to school, then the younger ones to kindergarten. While everyone is in class, Kristina cleans, cooks, sews, washes, feeds the animals. After six months, the guardianship authorities were convinced that she would be able to raise brothers and sisters.

Each child from the Yevtushenko family has their own responsibilities: one feeds the cattle after classes, one of the girls helps Kristina cook lunch and dinner. For a long time, the family had to go to a spring several kilometers away to get water. The local administration conducted a water supply, which became a real holiday in the family.

Now Artem, the next oldest in the Yevtushenko family, is studying at a technical school. They decided that he would be the one to get an education while Kristina would look after the younger ones. He comes for the weekend and does «men’s duties»: repairs, nails, repairs.

The state has not forgotten about the orphans’ family either. For all minor children (there are five of them now) Kristina gets help. Neighbors say that sometimes a girl comes to their house to cry. It’s very hard for her, but she doesn’t give up. It’s just that sometimes Kristina wants to be a weak girl.

However, after wiping away her tears, she hurries home again to take care of her family. Of course, she would like to go on dates and parties, but little brothers and sisters are the most important.
