At The Age Of 1, The Boy Was Left An Orphan. – There’s Nothing To Warm Him Up! – The Old Nurse Said Sternly

CHILDREN

At the age of 1, the boy was left an orphan. — There’s nothing to warm him up! — the old nurse said sternly. Having worked in the baby’s house for some time, I can say with confidence that this is quite a difficult job. I do not know why I decided to get a job there, because I cry over every new baby and worry about his fate. Of course, my husband is against my work, seeing my emotional state when I come home. He insists that I quit. And I can’t leave there, because who will love those children the way I do?

There are quite a lot of impressive stories going on in the baby’s house, but this one I remember the most. It was already evening and we got a call from the hospital. We were informed that a one-year-old boy would be delivered to us today. The fact is that his parents had an accident and did not survive, and the child was left an orphan. He had no relatives here, so they sent the baby to us.

Dima was brought in a police car, the kid was very scared and confused. It was noticeable that he was very worried, although he did not cry. Obviously, the boy had a state of shock.

When Dima was handed over to me, I felt that his heart was about to jump out of his chest. I whispered in his ear so he wouldn’t be afraid. At that moment, he looked at me and tears rolled down his cheeks.

However, there was not that childish hysteria that everyone saw. He was silent, and the tears just rolled down the round baby cheeks. He just couldn’t figure out where his parents had gone and what kind of strangers surrounded him. I felt very sorry for him, so I took him to my room for the night. I wanted to calm him down, read a fairy tale. When Dima fell asleep, in his sleep he continued to shudder and his heart was pounding hard. This excitement was transmitted to me.

Seeing how difficult it is for Dima to adapt, I paid more attention to him. I felt that he continued to worry.

— Stop running after him! There’s nothing to warm up. He still has to live … alone. — the old nurse said sternly.

And I can’t do that, so I ignored her words. As soon as the opportunity arose, I played with Dima. And you know what? I was fired for that. And the reason was my «incompetence». It turns out that it is impossible to treat some children in a special way. I probably will never understand it.

It’s funny that I couldn’t break up with Dima, so I offered to adopt him. The man agreed when he saw this baby firsthand. I didn’t want to leave the boy in that cold place. That’s how I became a mom for the first time.
