Gabi Shullo suspected something was wrong back in 2011 after an unsuccessful fall at the skating rink.It seemed like an ordinary blow, but it was much more complicated. Osteosarcoma – such a disappointing diagnosis was made by 10-year-old Gabi. The war with cancer was waiting for her. And as you know, no war is without losses…

After a three-month course of chemotherapy, the girl underwent a rotational amputation: the cancer-stricken kneecap was removed and the remaining leg was sewn on, turning it 180 degrees. Such an amputation provides greater mobility in the future, although it looks frightening. However, when a child’s life is at stake, there is not much to choose.

«We conferred with Gabi,» the parents say. -» they showed her a video of how people live after rotational amputations. The only drawback is the appearance, but we wanted her to be able to live as full a life as possible.

«After the operation, I had only one desire – I wanted to dance again. Before my knee was amputated, I was doing ballet and really wanted to continue. It motivated me a lot and got me out of bed. And, of course, the love of my family,» says Gabi.

«It was very painful. I was afraid to put weight on my bad leg. It took me about a year just to move without help, and another year to dance on stage.» Now Gabi Shullo is 14 years old, she trains again, participates in competitions and inspires many children who have coped with cancer, who still have to be rehabilitated. In the future, she is going to become a doctor to create a cure for cancer.

«If I was able to overcome the disease and learned to live without a leg, then I can do something more!» – says the girl. She had to face incredible difficulties. Her story is an example of the fact that life can sometimes be cruel, and therefore it is important to be able to hold a blow, fight back against circumstances, destinies and always go to a predetermined goal.
