Marina Peikrishvili, who has been confined to a wheelchair since childhood, has already given birth to her third son. The baby was born absolutely healthy with a weight of 3.3 kg and a height of 52 cm. The birth took place by Caesarean section, which lasted about an hour. The doctors chose such anesthesia so that mom was conscious.

«The baby was immediately attached to his mother. It’s such a thrilling meeting! Mom feels great! She is active,» says Irina Kitova, deputy chief physician of the regional hospital.

It just so happened that Marina has a congenital spinal cord injury, she has been in a wheelchair all her life.

«I just need a little more attention. That’s all. And so it’s not a disability,» said the woman in labor.

The doctors of the regional hospital have made a lot of efforts to ensure that both pregnancy and childbirth were successful and urge women with severe diagnoses not to despair.

«All problems can be solved. Any somatic pathology should not be a hindrance for childbirth and for the birth of a child,» said obstetrician–gynecologist Oleg Avksentiev.

Now Marina’s eldest son is 5 years old, and the average one is almost 3. The couple did not plan a third son, but they say that he made them even happier!
