He was an intern. He was interning at the city hospital in the pediatric department. He was doing well in his studies and thought he was ready to work as a pediatrician. But sometimes reality does not meet our expectations.
The chief doctor showed him the office, introduced him to the patients and stressed the need for a special approach to children from the orphanage. The workload was heavy, and it was not easy for him. The sight of sick children deeply touched his heart. One day he entered a room where a blue-eyed girl with blonde hair was lying. She smiled at him. The girl wasn’t crying, but she was looking at him with her big blue eyes.
She was about three or four years old. He greeted her, and she held out her hand to him and smiled broadly. She looked like a little angel. The nurse told him that they found her on the street, very cold, and no one came for her. She used to live with her aunt, but her aunt didn’t like her, and she ran away. Fortunately, she has recovered, and after discharge she will be moved to an orphanage. She just didn’t know it yet. He became very attached to the little girl, and they became friends.
She, in turn, became attached to him and waited for him every day, standing at the door of her room and trying to spend as much time with him as possible. She accompanied him around the department, seeking his attention in any way she could. Everyone loved her and called her a “little angel.” One day the girl showed the doctor a photo of her mother. She clutched the photo tightly in her hands and kissed it. Unfortunately, she said her mom was in heaven.
“My mom was kind, not like my aunt, she’s evil, like a witch from a fairy tale.” The internship has come to an end. The little angel didn’t want to let him go: “Don’t go, don’t go, you’re my dad.” Saying goodbye was difficult for both of them. She was crying. Then they took the girl to an orphanage. A year has passed. He married a good, kind-hearted girl.
One day they were walking in the park and suddenly heard a child’s voice: “Dad, Dad!” The girl ran to meet them. He recognized her. His wife looked at him in surprise. It turned out that the little girl was adopted by a loving family, and she grew up in a caring home.
